PROJECT ACCOUNTANT

Purpose

Responsible for ensuring compliance with all ES-KO procedures and policies with particular emphasis on: Internal project control, management of project cash, control of expenditure, incoming and outgoing assets, coding of transactions and effective and accurate reporting.

Experience

3-4 years commercial experience gained ideally in a services environment.

Education/Technical Qualifications

Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at the senior management level. Ability to work in a small, dynamic team in a fast paced, global organization that provides logistics and facilities management services, in remote and hostile environments. Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills. Ability to obtain British Government Security Clearance. Familiarity with project management techniques.

Responsibilities

• Confirm that the funds request, whether funds are coming from UK or other projects, are validly requested and that expenditure is properly justified. Complete the Accountant’s block on the Funds Request Form
• Return all refuted requests to the OPS Manager/Site Manager following completion of the Accountant’s block
• Monitor actual expenditure with requested and produce variance report; prepare cash flow forecast; control and reconcile bank account weekly
• Ensure that all cash fund security measures are fully implemented as per ES-KO procedures and policies
• Verify that the project/site Risk Management Plan includes all cash fund security measures
• Verify that the Project Manager’s Job Order includes a Safe Cash Limit which defines the maximum amount of cash that can be held at the site
• Maintain list of travel and salary advances and ensure that the advances are either accounted for the purpose intended or are recovered from the salary of the individual concerned
• Monitor Stock Report from each Project, and provide consolidated report for the OPS MANAGER, UK operational and finance managers
• Ensure a regular system of Project inventory verification
